Beautiful weather again prevailed today (Friday) and interest was fully substained by the competitors in tho various gamos. Owing to three of the Blenheim players having to leave, tho rink was consequently broken up and Napier claimed a bye in tho gamo in which thoy were drawn. The Now Plymouth-Wellington match, whioh, according to the typewritten programme, was to be played at No. 3 rink, was taken to No. 1. This cau3ed some dissatisfaction amongst other players, as it was resolved at a meeting of the tournament committee last night that the programme referred to, as regards time and tho allotment of rinks, be strictly adhered to. At the time the game started, none of the match committee were on the green to see that the resolution was carried out. New Plymouth proved successful ia the game by nine points. Auckland defeated Nelson by four, and Newmarket had Relinking good game with Palraerston, defeating the latter also by four, whilst Tiiorndon had an easy win over Waverley, and Dannevirke the same over Gisborne. Wanganui drow a byo, Newtown easily defeated Cartorton by 12, Victoria made a good show against Hastings, being beaten by live ; and Bluff Hill, after a good tussle, defeated Hawera by three. The surprise of this round was in the match botweon Foilding and Remuera, tho former being only able to put four on tho board as against 16. Tho scores aro as follow :—

In the second round the meeting of Wanganui'iind Auckland was Burrounded with a lot of interest. Tho home team led off with a score of three, but after this Auckland held the mat for eight successive heads, so that on the ninth their score stood at JLO. Wanganui then got one in, and the Northerners at the 13th head increased this to 12. After a dead heat, Wanganui scored two each in the last two head, and thus suffered defeat by 2. Wellington romped over Napier throughout, the scores standing at 7— 2 for 5 heads, 11 —3 for 7 heads, 12-4 for 9 heads, 17— 4xor 12 heads, and eventually they won by 19 points. The Nelson — Newmarket match was remarkarkable for the smallest score so far put up in the tourney, the compilation being principally by singles, and Nelson (who had the services in this game of Drew, Palmerston, instead of Baigent — suffering from neuralgia) won by 5 points. New Plymouth soored very heavily off Waverloy, winning by 19, Halmerston defeated Dannevirke by 5, Victoria prevailed over Gisborne by 2, Newtown had a victory of 9 against Rerauera, Bluff Hill somewhat unexpootodly defeated Feildiug by 1 only, Hastings had the best of the game with Hawora to the extent of 6 points at the finish, and the Thorndon-Carterton game resulted in a victory for Thorndon by 3 points. Tho results wero : — SECOND ROUND.
