Haweba, May 20. At Eltham on the 16th instant, we had a good entry of cattle. Bidding was fairly brisk for good quality heifers and young steers. Mr Nairn's dairy herd selling at fair rates ; fetching from £4 to £5 10s. At Hawera on the 19th instant, the yards were well filled with both cattle and sheep. Competition for the former was slaok, and brisk for the latter, most pens being disposed of at prices in advance of late rates. 1 We held our horse fair on the 19th in-, stant. There was good enquiry, and fair prices 'for upstanding haoks and heavy draughts, weeds being unsaleable.
