Christciidrch, March 21.

Yesterday morning when the Corinna was between Cook Strait and Kaikoura, on her way to Lytteltqn, a steerage passenger named William John Gilpin deliberately jumped overboaid. The steamer stopped, a boat was lowered, and the body recovered in eight minutes, but animation could not be restored. Deceased was lately working in Wellington as a coal lumper.
