THE SILVERSTREAM MURDERER.
(Per United Press Association.) Wei-lixotox, March 22. Both papers have published statements as to the convict Philpott breaking down and showing signs of fear, but these statements are now said to be incorrect. The man has not confessed, but strenuously protests his innocence, and remains calm aud patient. Lvter. The convict Philpott has lost all his bravado since he has known there is no hope of a commutation. Latest. It is understood that Philpott has confessed.
