April 8. Bishop Moran's hexlth if earning the graveit anxiety at Napier. William MUligan was admitted to the hospital, suffering from a severe ictlp wonnd, supposed to he received in a qutrrel with a stable boy named Qeorgo Toigard. Both were placed under arrest, and the aoouted was remanded until Thursday. Some 60 live sheep are to be sent to London by the Morayshire by Murray, Roberts, and Co.
The Taieri Council to-day agreed to the suggestion that the name of Greytown should be changed to Allanfcon. The residents of Grey town, it is understood, believe the change is unnecessary, and contend that ths place was not colled Greytown but Grey', It is understood that the names of the Beys. Hewitaon and Macrea will be submitted to the Knoi Church for ©lection of minister. Both are of Melbourne. In view of the proposal to erect ab. batoira for the city owners of slaughterhouses in the Taieri County a3ted the Council to-day to reetuest the appoint* ment of an inspector, the firm in question beta?, it was said, agreeable to beingtaxed for the inspector's salary. As tho members were not sure of tha legal position they adjourned for a mouth.
