UNION OF THE CHURCHES.

Lord Halifax and Cardinal Vaughan have left on a visit to Borne and it is supposed their mission is to promote the union of the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church. The Archbishop of Canterbury in a strongly worded letter declares that such a union is impossible.

The Pope will issue an appeal at Easter, urging the Protettants of England to favor a union with the Roman Catholic Ohuroh.
