This horso was bred in Germany, where great attention is paid to horse-breeding, for army purposes, all stallions at the service of the public having to be passed by the Government Vetinary Surgeon as sound and of good conformation and constitution. Delphin's breeding is of the most successful strains, his sire Magnat, having taken the following Government prizes in Germany for Coaching Stallions, viz., first prize in 1877 and second in 1878. He alto took first prize in 1882. His dam was one of the handsomest carriage mares in Germany, and a frequent prize winner. Dolphin is a handsome bright bay horse standing 16,3 hands, of grand proportions, and Bplendid conformation. He is of thoroughly sound constitution, and of most docile tembor. Dolphin, when mated with suitable mares,will,without doubt, got stock that will command top prices, and breeders for the Indian market should not miss this opportunity of socuring the services of a first-class animal so suited to their requirements. Cap-a-pie is very highly bred ; being by Maribyrnong, out of MiBS Magus; Miss Magus by Magus. Maribymong by Fisherman (imp.), out of Rose de Florence (imp.) Cap-a-pie's performances are of the highest class. He beat the great Australian crack, Chester, at lovel weights in A.J.C. St. Leger, and next day ran forward in tho Sydney Cup, carrying top weight ; on the following day, at lovel weights, he ran a dead heat with Chester, in tho Cumberland Stakes (two miles), and, on the race being run over again, Cap-a-pie was only beaten by a short half-head. He was purchased for 600 guineas by tho Auckland Stud Company, when first favorite for the Melbourno Cup, at Bst 81b. Cap-B-pio is a handsome dark brown horse, standing 15 hands 3 inches high, measuring about 8i inches below thp knee, and showing great symmetiy and power. Cap-a-pio's succesß at tho stud is beyond question.
