CHRISTCHURCH CATTLE MARKETS.

Chbistohtjboh, April 25. At the live stock market to-day the weather was cold and bleak. The attendance of f armes and dealers was large, bat the entry of all kinds of stock showed a considerable falling off, attributable probably to the bad weather that had preceded the gale.
Cattle. — Thongh the number of head entered was short in stores, there wns a good supply in fat, and for really good beef 17s per (OOlbs wai obtained. The L. and M. Agencysecured the top price for beeves, £8 10s. The demand was nol. keen, and several lots were passed in. Several milch cows were disqoscd of, fetching the prices of hist week. Sheep. — With a short entry on tho whole, a decided hardening in tho tone of tho market was observable, and a palpable rise ■was to be noted. A few crossbred wethers fetched 12s for a few heavy weights sold privately by the W.Z.L. and M.A. CoyMutton may be quoted at lid to li per lb. Pigs. — There was a good supply. Both porkers and baconers fetched good value, although no improvement on the values of last sale 709 observable.
