Goldsborough&Co held their weekly sale this afternoon, the room being crowded with Homo »nd foroign buyers. A catalogue of 4800 bales was offered, for which there was a spirited competition, especially for all clear wools which were free from burr. Earthy wasty sorts were dull, good greasy merino sold up llfd, good groasy crossbred lOJd, good scoured wool sold up to 19Jd, and superior grsasy lambs realized Ud. THE MBLBOUBNE EXHIBITION AND THE N.S, WALES TENARYDecember 2.— Tho Hon Di Gillies, Premier, has written to the Premier of New South Wales, expressing a hope that the International Exhibition at Melbourne in 1888 will not clash with the. centenary celebration at Sydney, Sir Patrick Jennings has indirectly intimated that he believes the two events will in nowise clash. THE TEETULPA GOLDFIELDS. Adelaide, December I.— The washing at Teetulpa lately has not given very favourable results. Diggers refuse to give any information as to their earnings, but private advices report that very rich yields have been obtained, FAVOURABLE REPORTS OP S,A. CROP. OBITUARY,
Mr Sapsford, city architect, died to-day. An inquest was held to-day on tho body of Fred Berendt, a merchant, who died from the effects of eating sandwiohes, which had been poisoned for tho purpose of killing rats. An open vordiot was returned.
The death is announced of John Tait, the well-known spott3man.
A CONTRADICTION.
December 2.— The statement as to the death of Mr John Tait is false. He is re. ported to be quite well.
