WELLINGTON.
April 21. At a meeting of the City Council, the Mayor, in presenting the annual report, said the estimated expenditure for the year waa £52,963, and receipts £50,294, leaving a debit balance of £2674 ; but the greater part of this waa overdraft of the previous year. He hoped the Council next year would observe a rigid economy, and they would be able to congratulate themselves on their position.
