Thames, March 8.

Heavy rain continued last night and this morning, causing another flood, and damage which cannot yet be calculated. The main street was partly inundated. The weather is clearing up.

At the inquest on the body of the man who was washed away in an avalanche on Tororu creek, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned.
