ASSESSMENT COURT.

The Board of Reviewers sat in the Courthouse this morning. There were on the Bench Messrs J. R. Sommerville (chairman). John Morgan, and David Peat. BOnOUi.H OF WANGANUI. In the case of the objections raised to the Borough assessments, no objectors put in an appearance, and the Bench complimented the Assessor (Mr Notman) on the excellent appraising. The following were dealt with ; Edward Wilson, reduced by consent ; A. A. Sheriff, one valuation reduced, and one confirmed ; L. L. Levy, valuation confirmed ; S. Goodall, reduced by consent; F. Hill, reduced by consent; Wilcox, valuation confirmed ; C. Jetlcot, reduced by consent ; Hugh Calders, reduced by consent ; W. J. Tingey, reduced by consent ; C. W. Kuopp, reduced by consent ; J. S. Smith, valuation confirmed ; Daniel Kitchen, reduced by consent ; David Peate, reduced by consent; William Reid, valuation confirmed. WAS GANUI WAITOTABA, The following ar6 the cases dealt with in this distriot for which Mr Liffiton is the Assessor :— No. 285, John_H. Murray, valuation confirmed; No. 327, Mr E. D. Broughton, valuation confirmed ; No. 25, William Fairweather Russell, valuation confirmed ; No. 26, Mr Russell, valuation confirmed ; No, 65, L. Meara (505 acres), valuation confirmed; No. 160, Mr >V. S. Vivian, reduced to £260; No. 112, Mr A. Bassett, valuation confirmed ; No. 239, Mr Michael .Leyden, valuation confirmed ; and. Mr James Alexander, reduced to £700. In the case of Mr Russell, that gentleman was not present at the time his name was called, but he afterwards appeared and requested a hearing, the Bench deciding to hear his solicitor's arguments as to a fresh hearing in the afternoon. WAKGAEHU. In this district, for which Mr Liffiton is also assessor, the following cases were hoard up to the time of ad journment : — No. 246, Arthur A. Sheriff, also confirmed ; No. 102, John Paterson, reduced to £1786 by consent ; No. 387, Thos, Reid, valuation confirmed ; Nos. 203 and 203 a, Mr Paterson, valuation confirmed ; No. 000, John Fleetwood, valuation oonfi ined ; No. 306, D. G. Poison (1450 aores at Pukarekchu), valued at £2175 ; Mr Poison, for whom considerable evidence was heard, reduced by £735; No. 303, Mr Poison (Pohnerangi block), valuation confirmed ; No 330, Mr Poison (1157 acres Mangawhero Fl. , valuation' confirmed ; No 304, 1). G. Poison (Mangawhero West), L 3564, reduced by L 1764; No 390, C. Parker, reduced by L 177 10s.
