Nominations for the above race close on Wednesday, 4th April 1883. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Wanganui; entrance money enclosed, with name, age at the time of entry, pedigree, and, in the case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered, will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing color must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the race fund. All entries should be made on the Club s printed forms of entry, which may be obtained at the office of the Hon Secretary. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Annual qualification fee, £3 for nonmembers ; for one meeting, £2. Second horse to save its stakes in all races except where otherwise specified. No entries or nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the postma' k of the date of entry, and telegrams of the same date, will be received. Dates of Nominations, Acceptances. &c, and Amounts to be bobwaxded.
