The Hinemoa arrived with the Volunteers at half-past six last night. There was a great crowd to welcome them, including the Mayor and the City Councillors, Fire Brigade, etc. The men marched up to the centre of the town, where the Town Clerk presented a congratulatory address to Major Pitt, who replied. Cheers were given for the Nelsou men and the Canterbury and Marlborough corps, and for Major Pitt. Fully 8000 people were present.
