' To start at 11 a.m. 2. — tHack Hurdle Race of 10 soys ; once round the course ; weights not less than 9st ; entrance, 1 soy. To start at 11 a.m; 3. — Maiden PLATE-of 40 sovg ; 1^ miles ; weight for age ; for horses that have never won an advertised race of the amount of 20 soys at the time of entry ; a winner of any such race after the time of entry to carry a penalty of 71bs ; of two or more such races, lOlbs ; entrance, 3 soys. To start at 12.30 p.m. 4. — Waverley-Waitotara Cur of 40 soys ; two miles ; weight for age ; entrance, 3 soys. To start at 1.30 p.m. 5. — Flying Handicap of 30 soys ; fof a wile ; nomination, 1 soy, acceptance, 2 soys. To start at 2.30 p.m. 6. — Waverley- Waitotara Handicap of 100 eovs ; 2\ miles ; second horse to receive 15 soys from the stakes ; nomination, 2 soys, acceptance, 4 soys. To start at 3.30. 7. — Consolation Race, 15 soys. ; Handicap ; once round the course ; entrance, 1 soy. To sfcarl at 430 p,m. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, and Waverley- Waitotara Handicap, to be in the hands of the Secretary before 8 p.m. on the 20th October ; weights to be declared on the 12th November : acceptances and general entries on the 20th November. Qualification fee for Non'ineuibers, £1 Is. RULES : No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — that all disputes,' claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed, and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Waverley, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and. in case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. ' In all weight- for-age races, the weight-for-age scale of the Wanganui Jockey Club rules will be adhered to. All porsons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary, or Clerk of the Scales, one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with thiß rule, shall pay a fino of 5 soys to the race fund. All entries should be made on the Club's printed forms of entry, which may be obtained at the office of the Hon Secretary. All races to be under the W.J.C.
