PARLIAMENTARY.
HOUSE Otf REPRESENTATIVES. LAST NIGHT'S SITTINGK Wellington, Aug. 30. After the House resuming last night, Dr. Wallis moved ■ the second reading of his Triennial Parliament Bill. The debate was kept , up until the House rose at half-past twelve.
The Hon. Mr Sheehan, tbe Premier, and Mr Stout, who strongly supported the Bill, said it was not a Government Bill, and members of the Ministry would vote according" to their private views on the question. But Sir George I Grey said that as tbe Bill bad been brought down, the House should not neglect to seizb tbe golden opportunity. The following other members supported the Bill in speeches of considerable length — Murray-Aynaley, Hodgkinson, fc'tout, Moss,, Eees, and Tole. Those who opposed-it were — JJowen, Manders, Thompson,3fe»kefield, Moorhouse, Pyke, and Turob^n»r>' The debate was adjourned for a fortnight on the-ndoiion of Mr Bunny.
