THE HURRICANE AT TONGA.

Auckland, May IG. During the hurricane at Tonga, between six and seven hundred houses were blown down, cansing general ruin all over the Island. The ketch Pearl left Tonga for Eva to land sheep, but determined to run back. Both she and the May Queen were caught in the gale, but the Pearl managed to get in before the passage became impassable, the May Queen being unable to do so. The latter was seen on the lee side of the island, on her beam ends. The Pearl, Prince of Wales, "William and Caroline were all driven high and dry. The May Queen was insured in the New Zealand (open policy) for £2000, in the National for £300, and also for £1000 in the New Zealand on specie, a quarter of tho latter being reinsured in the Standard, and a quarter in an Australian office.
