WANGANUI RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of the members of the above society was held last evening at the Phoenix Hotel. The fact of the prizes won at the last meeting beiuoready for presentation, and the int creased interest felt in the Association, induced a good attendance. The Hou Treasurer, Captiin Low, produced the balance sheet which shewed the satisfactory result of £32 18s 4d to the good. The total receipts for the year ending 20th March amounted to £78 19s 10s, and the disbursements, consisting of Prizes, &c, to £5G l s Gd. This sheet being duly audited was unanimously adopted. The prizes wore then presented to the winners. The highest aggregate scorer. Mr W. H. Churton, received the handsome Silver Cup, valued <it £8 Bs, presented by Mr A. Duncan. The N.K.A. Medal was taken by Mr E. Lockett, while a variety of money prizes ia sums from £3 to 10s were handed to the different winners. The business of electing the Officers of the Association resulted in a complete change being made, Mr A. Duncan being elected Pre^i sideut, Mr J. P. Watt Vice President, Mr D. S. McLellan Secretary, and Fr J. Ward Treasurer. Messrs T. D Cummins, E. C. Lockett, W. H. Churton, J. Thurston, T. Low, J. Sommervjlle 11. S. Day, J. \y. Liddell, W. Barr, J. Stevenson, and J. G Hogg were elected as a Coumii of management. The new President m returning thanks for his election informed the members that having had great experience in rifle shoot,ug, h & would be most happy to give his services in coaching up the new members, or indeed to any member who^expi-essed a wish to avail himseli of his (the President's) experience. The usual compliment to the chairman concluded the meeting.
