RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Thursday, March 0, 1871. (Before Walter Duller, Esq., B. M.) BREACH OF THE DOG LICENSED ACT. Thomas Scowan was charged with not having registered his dog. The defendant having pleaded that the dog was not his property, Mr Buller ordered the constable to shoot the animal. Charge dismissed. CIVIL. John McGregor v. James McDonald. Claim £6G. Mr Roberts appeared for plaintiff. Defendant handed in a nots from Mr Cooper his solicitor, asking for an adjournment. Mr Roberts objected to the adjournment, and said his client was willing to forego the claim if the defendant would deliver up a certain key. The defendant having agreed to that, the case was written off as settled out of Court. Robert Vance v. Charles Johnston. Ad(oiirned for proof of service of summons till Friday next.
