A fs.ial accident is reported by the Oeelong Advertiser as having happened at Steiglitz to a young man named Joshua Foster, a miner. It appears that Foster and a mate were sinking a hole for yold, and when it was down about 16ft., the mate, who was on the surface, saw that the clay was about to slip, and he called out to Foster. The latter jumped sufficiently on one side to avoid the full force of the fall but the clay caught both legs below the knees. He was taken to the Geelong Hospital, and died about threequarters of an hour after his admission from the injuries he had sustained.
