THE VON TEMPSKY FUND.
(To the Editor of the Westport Times.) Sir, —I have received a letter from the widow of the late Major Von Tempsky, stating that she has received the sum of £lB, from the Thames Subscription Committee, which was subscribed by the inhabitants of Westport. She does not know whom to thank. Permit me, therefore, in her name, through the medium of your valuable paper, to thank those kind persons who interested themselves in subscribing towards the support of the widow and children of as gallant a soldier as ever died iu the service of the New Zealaud army.—l remain, sir, your obedient servant. llENitr J. [lt was by the exertions of the Westport Amateur Dramatic Club that the local contribution to the Von Tempsky Fund was obtained, and the gentleman who was at the time Secretary to the Club received from the Committee at the Thames a prompt acknowledgment of the Committee's and the public interest in the family of the late Major Von Tempsky.]
