A HARD CASE.

To the Editor of the Westpot t Times and Charleston Argus. Sir, —As a miner interested I should wish to call the attention of the Government officials to the fact that myself, amongst others, have deposited £5 in the hands of the Warden's clerk, with an application for an extended claim, and either from an insufficient numher of surveyors or a want of energy on the part of those in charge, mine, amongst others that I know of is still unsurveyed. The inconvenience occasioned thereby is considerable, as applicants for extend >d claims are precluded from commencing operations until they know whether their application will be granted or not. Trusting that these remarks will have the effect of causing less delay. I am, Sir, Tour obdt. servant, Job Fat at. Charleston, Feb. 13,1868.
