BIG JUMP IN BRITAIN. LONDON, Wednesday. There has been a big jump in unemployment, which has chiefly hit the cotton and woollen textiles industries, and also significantly the luxury and semi j luxury trades, which were badly affected. As a result, there were widespread losses on the Stock Exchange. The radio industry seems to be in aii unhappy condition, and the motor trade' is also having a thin time.
