ONEHUNGA STRIKE

MILLS STILL IDLE. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The Onehunga woollen mills are still idle. No move has been made to open negotiations. “Unless an early opportunity is provided for consideration of the points af issue, the employees’ union will have no other option than to hand the dispute over to the Federation of Labour,” was the statement made by the union secretary, Mr T. Long, to-day, in outlining the grievances which have been forwarded to the company on behalf of the workers. The complaints concern the conditions of work at the blanket and tweed looms, ventilation of the building, washing and cloakrooms’ accommodation, and first aid equipment.—(P.A.)
