COSY THEATRE
ANOTHER DOUBLE BILL. “Aren’t Men Beasts,’’ one of two features in the programme to be screened finally at the Cosy Theatre to-night at 8 o ’clock, is an uproarious screen version of a highly successful stage farce. Robertson Hare and Alfred Drayton appear in their original stage roles. The story is one of wildly amusing misunderstandings and misadventures. June Clyde is the leading lady. The other feature “The Cherokee Strip’’ unfolds a story of the brave days of old, when free homestead lands were being thrown open to pioneers willing to race for them and develop them. There are two heroines, Jane Bryan and Helen Valkis, and a number of other noted players, including Ed Cobb, Milton Kibbee, David Carlyle and Gordon Hart. Dick Foran, the singing cowboy, is not a cattle puncher this time. He has the part of a young (singing) lawyer who takes part in the race and hangs up his shingle in one of the boom towns.
