Y.M.C.A.

LADIES’ AUXILIARY The president, Mrs. G. R. Beecroft, presided at the regular monthly meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary, held yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members. The report on the Mother and Daughter Tea was presented and was regarded as very satisfactory. The attendance was larger than in 1936. Arrangements were • made for the Father and. Son Banquet, which usually takes place in October. It was decided to fix the date for Wednesday, October 13, at 5.45 p.m. A number of gifts were offered towards the catering. It was reported that the association’s Juvenile Concert was to be held on Thursdav, November 4, in the Opera House. The programme arrangements were well in hand. A discussion also took place on the question of holding a sale of goods in November, the date suggested being Friday, November 26, in the Gymnasium. After the business had been transacted, the hostesses for the afternoon— Mesdames Wing, Davie and Physick—entertained members at afternoon tea. Mesdames Milne, Rutherford and Prescott were appointed hostesses for October. . ■ t i : j_ i _
