ROTARY CLUB

ROADS AND BRIDGES.

INTERESTING ADDRESS,

In the absence of the president, Rotarian E. J. Rich, the vice-president, Rotarian C. R. Malison,, presided over a large attendance of members at yesterday’s luncheon of the Masterton Rotary Club. Birthday greetings were extended to Rotarian T. Vaughan, and several members paid the penalty for recent performances, good or otherwise, on the golf links. The speaker for the day was Mr F. C. Daniell, who gave a most interesting address on "Roads and Bridges.” Mr Daniell dealt principally with the early days of transport in the Wairarapa, and had much to say that was of interest regarding the, experiences of the. early settlers. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, on the motion of Rotarian Norman Lee.
