MAINLY YOUNGER PEOPLE.

The Governor-General and Lady Galway propose to give a ball, to be confined mainly to the younger people, at Government House, Wellington, during the third week in October, at which a limited number of debutantes will be received by Their Excellencies. Applications for presentation should be addressed to the Aide-de-Camp in Waiting, not later than 15th September, by the mother or other nearest relative of the prospective debutante, whose Christian name and age should be given.
