CHAMPIONSHIP CONTESTS. There are 20 entrants for the eight amateur wrestling championship classes to be decided on Saturday evening next in the Dixon Street gymnasium under the control of the Wairarapa Wrestling Association. A big night’s programme will commence at 7 p.m. In view of the North Island section of the Dominion Amateur Championships being held in Masterton on Bth and 9th September, there is very keen rivalry for the honour of representation and some spirited contests should be witnessed. The draw for Saturday night is as follows:-—Flyweight, 8.0; McLeod (Featherston) v. Carroll (Cakterton); bantam, 8.6: Jensen (Ffjhierston) v. Southey (Masterton); feather, 9.0: Jensen (Featherston) v. Burt (Featherston); lightweight, 9.9: Low (Featherston) v. Nielsen (Eketahuna); Hodson (Featherston) v. Searancke (Eketahuna), Tozer (Masterton) v. Head (Carterton); welter, 10.7: Head (Carterton) v. Wenden (Featherston); Russell (Masterton) v. T. Searancke (Eketahuna); middle, 11.6: Noble (Featlierston) v. Dumbleton (Eketahuna); Carlyon (Featherston) v. Chappel (Masterton); lightlieavy, 12,7: Noble v. the winner of Pedersen (Featherston) and Sutherland (Masterton); heavy, over 12.7: Pedersen (Featherston) meets the winner of Noble (Featherston) v. Wilkins (Eketahuna) match.
