Brown reports' as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. to-day: — Barograph, 30.03; shade temperature, maximum 62.4, minimum 32.1; ten- strial, 24.7; sunshine, 6 hours 12 minutes; frost, 5.7 degrees. JULY WEATHER SUMMARY. Miss A. M. Brown (observer) 1 , reports as follows:—Average bright sunshine, 3.7 hours. Temperatures: Absolute outdoor shade, maximum, 62.8 deg., on 18th July; lowest maximum, 43.2 deg., on 22nd; absolute minimum, 22.3 deg., on 15th; highest minimum, 4S.3deg., on 18th; mean shade temperature, 43.4 deg. (cf. June, 44.4); lowest gross minimum, 14.4 deg. on 15th. Underground, lowest 3Gdeg. on 15th, highest 45.3dcg. on 30th. There were 17 frosts (30.3 deg. being frost point at this altitude). Rainfall total, 5.13 inches on 19 days, the greatest in one day being 1.21 on the 26tli. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The indications are for northerly moderate to strong to gale winds in places, and later veering by north to west.
