HOCKEY

TWO VALUED OFFICIALS. In connection with the outstanding success of the six-a-side and five-a-side tourney on Tuesday last, considerable praise is due to Messrs C. Cole and D. Burgess, who carried out the onerous duties associated with the management of the tournament. Hockey players, and especially the visitors, were most eulogistic in their remarks concerning these two enthusiasts, who found no task, however difficult, beyond their experience and ability. The game of hockey is indeed fortunate in having two such keen officials, ever willing to do their utmost to help along hockey in the Wairardpa, and to see to the comfort, convenience and general welfare of the players. With the interests of hockey deeply at heart, Messrs Burgess and Cole are ever willing to assist in any capacity to further the progress of this ever-increasing popular winter sport.
