SOCIAL CREDIT

—- PARTY FACES CRISIS. ALBERTA ’S EXPERIMENT. EDMONTON, Friday. Alberta’s experiment in social credit reached a crisis to-day when the Provincial Legislature adjourned until 2nd March without passing the legislation necessary to make the plan operative. Of the many problems facing the Government, the budgetary one is the most difficult with a probable deficit at 31st March estimated' at £1,800,000. Some of the Government’s financial advisers insist on a wage tax in addition to high income taxes to balance the Budget, but such a levy on wages is opposed by social credit proponents.
