A HECTIC DAY. (Supplied by N.Z. Government.) (Received Monday, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, Sunday. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates had an extremely busy time during his last three or "four days in London, the last day being particularly hectic. In tho morning, before 9 o’clock, Mr Coates had a conference Avith representatives of Australia and South Africa in regard 'to proposals to improve the consumption and market outlook for wool. , . Mr Coates aftenvards proceeded to Toolev Street, Avhere, at tlie office of the New- Zealand Dairy Board, lie met a number of representatives of the butter trade and discussed matters of the moment. The next engagement of Mr Coates Avas at the Board of Trade, Avhere he had important discussions regarding future trade relations Avith certain foreign countries, especially in vieAV of Hie recent Customs proposals by one nation. Late in the afternoon Mr Coates had a three-hour talk Avith Mr Elliot, having the previous day had a similar engagement with Mr Stanley Baldwin at Doivning Street. At 11 p.m. Mr Coates had a final half-hour conference Avith the Ncav Zealand Meat Board representatives. Just before midnight Mr Coates saw a deputation of persons interested in the promotion of the construction of the Napier-Gisbornc raihvay, headed by Mr W. D. Lvsnar. Mr Coates’ departure from Waterloo Station A\-as at 9 o'clock next morning. A large croAvd of Ncav Zealanders and Government representatives faroAvelled the Minister and Mrs Coates and heartily cheered them as the train pulled out.

LONDON, Saturday. The Rt Hon. J. G. Coates has boarded the Bremen for America. He declared that lie was satisfied that everything was proceeding satisfactorily.
