MAURICEVILLE NOTES

(Own Correspondent.)

Hall Society. The quarterly meeting of the Mauriceville Hall Society was held on Wednesday evening, when Mr Jas. McGovern presided over a full attendance. Messrs J. Milner and H. Myers were appointed to inspect and report on the offer of a piano, which was received. The secretary, Mr Milner, reported that good progress was being made with the Paddy’s Market to be held on 4th May. A deputation was received from the Mauriccvillo Table Tennis Club in connection with the use of the hall for the season, and an offer was made which, it is hoped, ivill be satisfactory to both parties.^

Tennis Club’s Dance. To mark tho close of the season, the Mauricoville Tennis Club, which enjoys a reputation for the quality of its functions, is putting on a dance in the Mauriceville Hall on Easter Monday, which should prove a great attraction. The Rhythm Boys’ Orchestra will be m attendance, whilst the Ladies Committee has promised to make the supper an extra special one. “A good wine needs no bush,” and patrons are assured of a great time. » * *

Personal. ~ Mr W. P. Carter, secretary to tne Mauriceville Dairy Company, lias left on his annual holidays, which will be spent in the Auckland district. P Mr Jas. McGovern has returned from a short visit to Thames. Misses D. M. Palmer and E. Mainer are spending Easter Week at Para paraumu Beach.
