MR J. W. CARD TO STAND
Following on tho announcement that the Hon. A. D. McLeod’ will not seek re-election as member for .Wairarapa at the coming general election, Mr J. >V. Card, Mayor of Featlierston, in reply to invitations from various parts of the electorate, notifies in this issue that he will bo a candidate in the Coalition interest. It is reported in Wellington that Colonel T. W. McDonald, who captured tho seat in 1928, but was defeated by Mr McLeod in 1931, will again stand for tho Wairarapa this year. It is stated that Mr Ben Roberts, of Clareville, will also contest tho seat as the nomine® of the New Zealand Labour Party.
