WEDDING

NISBET—JACOB.

At St. Matthew’s Church this afternoon a pretty wedding took place when Miss Lyle Violet Jacob, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. J. Jacob, of Jeans Street, Masterton, was married to Mr Alfred Wm. Nisbet, second son of Mr and Mrs G. S. Nisbet, of Northland, Wellington. Rev. E. J. Rich was the officiating clergyman and Mr Miller Hope the organist. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father wearing a very graceful frock of angel skin lace with, a cowl neck and long fitting sleeves. Her frock had a slight train and the veil was charmingly arranged with net cap and orange blossom. Her shoes were of silver, A 'shower bouquet of cream roses and maiden hair fern completed her toilet. The bridesmaid, Miss Thelma Harrington, of Masterton, wore pink angel skin lace with a slight train, cowl back, silver lame girdle and picture hat of pink taffeta and silver trimming. She also wore silver shoes. Her bouquet was of shaded pink roses and maiden-hair fern to tone. Mr John A. Turner, of Wellington, attended the bridegroom 'as his best man.

A reception was later held at Messrs Hugo and Shearer’s Oak Room, when seventy guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a blue floral crepe-de-chene frock, a blue felt hat and carried a. posie of autumn tints touched with blue. The usual toasts were honoured.

The bridegroom’s mother wore navy camillo with lace, hat and shoes to tone, and she carried a bouquet of red roses.

The bride’s travelling dress was a brown tailored costume, hat and shoes to tone, and a sable opossum fur stole. One of the feature's of the- wedding breakfast was the beautiful wedding cake presented by the bride’s brother, Mr H. Jacob, of Levin.

Many valuable gifts were received by the couple, whose future residence will be in Hawke’s Bay.

After the reception the happy couple 16ft on their honeymoon for the north by car.
