drastic report. OFFICIALS DISMISSED. 4 AUCKLAND, Monday, stic recommendations were contained in a report tabled at a meeting of the Onchunga Borough Council by an investigation committee appointed by the Council to enquire into borough affairs.
The upshot was a decision to dispense with the services of four officers, the town clerk, Mr H. A. Yockney; foreman of works, Mr R. Gordon; a storeman, Mr R. Inglis; and a motor mechanic, Mr L. Brain.
The report of the committee, which comprised three members of the Council and three residents, had recommended the dismissal of only Mr Gordon and Mr Brain.
