At a meeting of the Wairarapa Prpsbvterv, held in Masterton, _ the Kev G W. Blair tendered liis resignaSon as minister of Feather*®. The Ecv A. Hardie, who had been appoint ed to confer with the congregation reported that he had presided over a largely-attended meeting of the cong gation held on 24th March. At that meeting the following motion was nassedf “That this meeting of the Featherston congregation learns with regret the intention of their mmister. the Bev. G. W. Blair, to sever his connection with his charge through Ins attaining the retiring age. We desire to place on record our appreciation of l,js faithful services during the years lie has been minister here. His loss will be felt amongst us and his place I in the pulpit hard to fill. Wo will place no obstacle in his Avay.” . Commissioners had been appointed to appear before Presbytery as folloAvs:— Mr J D. Boss, to represent the Session- Mrs S. Burt, to represent the managers; Mrs Arch. Clark, to represent the congregation. The Moderator called on these friends to speak and each bore testimony to tlie esteem m Avliicli their minister was held by all and expressed their great sense of loss in his retirement. Tlie Bc\\ A. George Washington Blair, rejoices to hear the good reports from the Featherston representatives and _ heartily confirms the same. Presbyterian that a long period of serviceable retirement may be granted him.” It avos agreed that the pastoral tie be dissolved as from 30th April, and that the Bev. A. Hardie, Martinborough, be Interim Moderator. A sub-committee consisting of the Be vs. .T. Tin vie and A. Hardie Avas appointed to drn.AV up a suitable minute fr>” incorporation in Presbytery records.
