PLUMBERS’ AWARD

RESTORATION URGED. A claim that the Wellington Plumbers ’ Industrial Award was cancelled through the administration of Government officials without having been heard by the Conciliation Council, was made by a deputation from the Wellington Trades and Labour Council, which waited on the Minister of Labour, Hon. A. Hamilton, at Wellington, yesterday, and asked that immediate steps should be taken to restore the award. Mr -Hamilton promised he would look into the matter. There was no reason, he said, why the conciliation commissioner should show favour to one side at the expense of the other, but there •'was no evidence that that had been done. He promised to enquire into the position immediately.
