MR. A. S. GRAN*.

The death occurred yesterday afternoon at the residence of his son, Mangamahoe, of Mr Adam Sutherland Grant, at the age of 76 years. The late Mr Grant, who / was well known throughout the Wairarapa, where he had resided all his life, suffered only a slxoit illness. Born at Martinborougli, Mr Grant later resided at Bannockburn, Gladstone, a property owned by his father, the late Mr Robert Grant, who came to New Zealand from Sutlierlandsliire, Scotland, in 1852 and took up his residence in the Wairarapa.

The late Mr Alexander Grant, who established Burnside station, Takapau, in 1860, was a brother of Mr Robert Grant. The late Mr Adam Grant was for several years manager of Mr J.
