ASSAULT CHARGE
RACEHORSE INCIDENT. SYDNEY, Monday. As a sequel to the racehorse incident at Kensington on Saturday, Gordon William Watson, aged 27, jockey, Ronald William Watson, aged 29, jockey, and Alfred William Twyman, aged *35, clerk, Aveer remanded at the Police Court to-day on a charge of unlawfully assaulting Ellen Cain, wife of the trainer, A. Cain. The prosecution alleged that the three defendants, in company with two others, had gone to Mrs Cain’s home and knocked her about rather badly. The prosecution added that it Avas also alleged that the racehorse Supreme Court Avas taken, and in connection thercAvith further charges Avould be preferred. Defendants’ counsel intimated that the defence Avas a' perfect alibi. RETURNED TO STABLE. SYDNEY, Monday. The racehorse Supreme Court has been returned to Cain’s stable. The AA’ell-known racing man to Avhose stable the horse AA’as taken offered no opposition to its repossession by the trainer.
A cable published yesterday stated that Ncav Zealand’s mystery horse, Supreme Court, figured in a series of dramatic incidents on Saturday. UnknoAvn men forcibly took the horse from the Kensington stable of Albert Cain AA'hilc Cain Avas on his Avav to Wanvick Farm, and are alleged to haA’e assaulted Mrs Cain, Avho attempted to stop them from removing the horse. Police subsequently found Supreme Court in stables at RandAvick. Finally a man claiming to bo attorney for the OAvner took possession of Supreme Court.
