NOMINATIONS TOR NEW BOARD. WELLINGTON, Monday. Nominations for the election of three representatives of dairy companies to the New Zealand Dairy Board under the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act closed to-day with the Returning Officer, Mr G. G. Hodgkins. Five nominations have been received for the Northern Ward, seven for the Middle Ward and three for the Southern Ward. An election will be held on 12th March, and the present board will be extinguished by Order-in-Council. The nominations arc as follow: — Northern Ward: Ernest George. Appleton, Turiwiri, Northern Wairoa; Samuel Andrew Ferguson, Motumaolny Morrinsvillc; William, Grounds, Hokianga; Alfred James Murdoch, Whangarci; Thomas Mcrvyn Wells, Cambridge. , „ Middle Ward: Neil Campbell, Ivauwhata, Manawatu; Cyril Guy Conduitt Dernier, Malcino, Feilding; Walter Clement Guy Green, Raliotu; Andrew Linton, Lower Valley, Featherston; Benjamin Roberts, Carterton; Samuel Thomas Paviour Smith, Dannevirke; Robert Boswell Sutton, Inglewood. Southern Ward: John Dunlop, Seawood Downs; Andrew Rollo Guild, Milford, Temuka; William Lee, Goodwood. A denial that Cabinet had taken any steps to appoint Government members of the Dairy Board was made by the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes) to-day, when his attention was drawn to the Press Association message from New Plymouth, suggesting that Mr T. A. Winks would be one of the Government nominees. Mr Forbes said that no names had been before Cabinet, and no appointments would be made until after the election of the producers’ representatives. —(P.A.)
