YOUTH DROWNED

HAMILTON FATALITY. HAMILTON, Monday. John Sibley, aged 10, was drowned in the Waikato River at mid-day, when a canoe in which he and a companion, Edward Branning, were paddling overturned in midstream. Both youths clung to the canoe, but deceased had to let go, apparently through exhaustion. His companion reached the bank.—(P.A.)
