MR C. M. BOWDEN
PRESENTATIONS BY STAFFS. A pleasant function took place yesterday afternoon, Avhen the branch and departmental managers of the W.F.C.A., Ltd., entertained Mr C. M. BoAvden (managing director) at afternoon tea prior to his and Mrs BoAvden’s departure on a business and holiday trip to Great Britain, >■ the Continent and America. The opportunity was taken to present Mr BoAvden Avith a handsome travelling rug. Mr F. E. Wells, in making the presentation, referred to the' good feeling existing betAveen Mr BoAvden and members of the Masterton and branch staffs. He Avislied Mr and Mrs BoAvden a pleasant journey and safe return. Messrs C. Thomsen (Dannevirke), A. Vaughan (Pahiatua), J. Barker (Wellington), G. Scrimgeour (GreytoAvn), J. Finlay (Martinborough), A. Keir, D. P. Sheppard and J. E. McV. Cahvell (Masterton), speaking on behalf of the A*arious branches, also Avislied Mr and Mrs Bowden an enjoyable trip and a safe return.
Mr BoAvden, in replying, heartily thanked all for the gift, kind thoughts and spontaneous expression of goodAA’ill. At closing time yesterday the Masterton staff met Mr BoAvden to Avish him good-bye. Mr R. H. BreAverton, on their behalf, asked him to accept a smoker’s outfit as a small token of their goodAvill and esteem. He also expressed Avishes for an enjoyable trip and safe return. Mr BoAvden, responding, thanked them all for the kind thoughts expressed and for their acceptable gift.
Mr and Mrs BoAvden will lea A-e Wellington on Tuesday by the Makura to connect Avith the Jervis Bay at Svdnev.
