A LOCK OUT

DECLARED BY UNEMPLOYED. TROUBLE WITH DEPARTMENT. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Because the Public Works Department has decided no longer to grant free transport to and from Christchurch for unemployed men working at Ashley Camp, the men decided at a meeting tonight to declare “a lock-out,” the term used by the men’s spokesmen in reporting the meeting. This will not affect men who arc resident in the camp, but only those who have been travelling there from the city.— (P. A.)
