PICTON MURDER

A SPECIAL ACT. TO EXPEDITE APPEAL. BLENHEIM, Tuesday. Owing to the long vacation, it will be necessary for a special Act off Parliament to be passed to enable the Appeal Court, to hear the appeal of Edward Tarrant against liis conviction for tlio murder of James Flood, at Picton. A Bill is to be rushed througli Parliament next week, and the Court will probably sit on 31st January. In ordinary circumstances it would not sit till TSth March.—(P.A.)
