CAKES FOR CAMP MEN. . The men who arc to remain in the Masterton County Council’s relic camps at Blairlogie* au<l the Devil s Elbow during the Christmas and New Year holiday period are not to be forgotten. Through the efforts of Mrs F. N. 'Kilgour, of Lansdowne, no less than 421bs of iced and decorated Christmas cakes nave been prepared for the men who have no homes cr relatives to go to tor Christmas cuid are therefore obliged to remain bi camp. No doubt Mrs Kilgour’s kind and thoughtful action will be greatly appreciated by the men. Yesterday afternoon Mrs Hugh Moririson, a member of the Women’s National Welfare League, was entrusted with the delivery of a consignment of the Christmas cakes to Blairlogio Camp. Mr A. E. Bate, secretary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A., lias in hand the delivery of the Devil’s ElbowCamp consignment. Thanks are due to Mrs Physiek for cooking the cakes, as the job was too big for the usual domestic oven. Books, periodicals aud other reading matter is also being sent. out. to the camp dwellers.
