PRESENTED AT COURT
SEVERAL NEW ZEALANDERS. LONDON, Thursday. Presentations at Court on Thursday included the following New Zealanders: —-Mesdames Roderick Anderson, Denis Balcombe-Brown, Lennox Gordon, Grenfell, Morgan, Francis Clark and lan MaeKillop; Misses Isabel Wilford, Inda Myers, Annie 'Clarkson, Biddy Phile.ox, Margaret Porritt and Joyce Tolhurst. For the first time at a Court all the gowns were British made, both as to material and design. This was due to the Queen’s special request. She herself set an example by wearing a lovely embroidered gown of silver and gold with a train of Irish lace. There was the usual assembly of motor-cars conveying the 400 debutantes in the Mall, where the fine evening enabled Londonders to enjoy the parade of English beauty and fashion. White, pink and pale lettuce green were the dominant colours. Some of the loveliest frocks were made of Nottingham lace and looked singularly beautiful against the background of red roses, laburnum and deep-coloured hydrangeas which were banked around the State apartments. The King wore the scarlet and gold uniform of Colonel-in-Chief of the Scots Guards, with a crepe armband.
