It Avas stated officially at a meeting in Victoria Square this evening that a ballot taken among the relief workers of Christchurch had disclosed a majority in faA’our of direct action against the neAV rates of relief wages and that men on relief Avorks would strike to-morroAA r . The relief Avorkers strike, called here for to-day, so far has only been partly successful, as on some jobs 90 per cent, of the men are 'Working.
