INNER HARBOUR SCHEME. NAPIER, This Day. Considerable interest was taken in the Harbour Board election yestciduj when every inter-harbour supporter was defeated. As the result of the earthquake the bed of the harbour was raised six feet, and since then the Tutaekuri River, bearing silt from the fractured hills, lias raised tho land above the Avatei level practically all over the inner harbour. . . This is the first time for over .29 years that there has been a majority on the board opposed to further construction in connection with the inner harbour scheme.—(P.A.)
